Everyone Needs Estate Planning
Estate Planning is not just for the wealthy. Everyone over the age of 18 should have an estate plan in place. Without proper estate planning documents, the State, as opposed to the individual, determines how your affairs will be handled. This includes who acts on your behalf in the event of your disability or death, what life-sustaining treatment will be given in a period of incapacity, who would have custody of your minor children, and how your assets will be handled at the time of your death.
How Will You Address the Cost of Long Term Care?
Recent statistics show that 70% of individuals will require some sort of long term care during their lifetime. Unfortunately, the cost of both in-home care and care facilities can quickly drain your life savings. With proper planning, an individual can preserve some, if not all, of their assets, even if they are already residing in a nursing home. We assist clients in navigating the long term care options and developing strategies to protect their assets while qualifying for government benefits such as VA Aid and Attendance and Medicaid.
When Your Loved One Passes
When a loved one passes, we help clients through the process of settling and distributing their estate. Whether the individual passed without a will, a will needs to be probated, or a trust needs to be administered, we make the process as easy and streamlined as possible, providing a sense of security during a difficult time.
